4 reasons I love the Bilt Mastercard

If you rent a house or apartment, pay attention to this post.

The Bilt Mastercard is an amazing card for several reasons, but its primary selling point is that it allows you to earn points on your rent with no fee.

And the best part is that the Bilt Mastercard has no annual fee, meaning that it is completely free.

To apply for the Bilt Mastercard, click here.

1. Earn points on rent (with no fee)

Before the Bilt card, if you wanted to earn credit card points on rent, you were subject to a fee ranging from 2-4%, which meant that it was almost never worth it to pay rent with a credit card.

By connecting your Bilt card to your rent portal, you earn points on rent for no additional fee, making the Bilt Mastercard great for anyone who rents.

2. Rent Day promotions

Rent is usually due on the 1st of every month. Since the Bilt card primarily focuses on rent payments, Bilt runs special promotions on the 1st day of each month.

Each rent day, Bilt has a trivia game that awards points for correct answers. It also has a puzzle, and anyone who correctly solves the puzzle is entered into a drawing to have their rent paid for the month.

In addition, Bilt has various other promotions each month. Recently, they have given away flights to Hawaii and Europe and have given everybody a prize (ranging from 50 points to several thousand points and more) for solving the monthly puzzle.

3. Lots of transfer partners

If you're new to the game of points and miles, you may not yet realize the incredible value of transfer partners. In my last post, I discussed how I used my Chase Sapphire card and a transfer partner to save thousands of miles booking flights for my honeymoon. This is just one example of how valuable these partners can be.

Bilt has partnered with over 10 airlines and two major hotel brands, allowing users to transfer points with any of these partners. The airline partners include American Airlines, United Airlines, FlyingBlue, Virgin Atlantic, Aeroplan, Emirates, Hawaiian Airlines, Turkish Airlines, Cathay Pacific, British Airways, Iberia, and Aerclub. Bill's hotel partners are IHG and World of Hyatt.

These hotel and airline partners create many opportunities to redeem your Bilt points for high value flights and hotels across the world.

In addition, you receive 100 Bilt points each time you connect a transfer partner account to your Bilt account. This is an easy way to earn several hundred points if you're close to a redemption but don't quite have enough points.

4. Lyft, DoorDash, and Amazon benefits

In addition to the major benefits already mentioned, the Bilt Mastercard has several smaller perks that make it even better.

If you frequently use rideshare apps such as Uber of Lyft, you should link your Lyft account to your Bilt Mastercard. Not only will you earn 5x miles per dollar spent on Lyft rides (when you pay with your Bilt card), but after taking 3 rides in a month, you receive a $5 Lyft credit.

For those who love food delivery, Bilt offers a 3-month DashPass membership for free. Users also get $5 off their first DoorDash order each month.

Another amazing benefit is that you will earn 5x points per dollar on any Amazon purchases made with your Bilt card through August 14, 2023. Since this is a short-term promo, I'm not sure how long it will last, but I'll be taking advantage of it while I can.
